Privacy Policy

VisitingCards.store is managed by Anunzio International FZC. This page explains what we store, where, and for how long.

Who processes what

  • Our database provider — account details, card content, leads, saved-device records and visitor session rows all live here.
  • Our hosting provider — hosts the site and serves it from an edge network.
  • Stripe — United States. Handles payment once paid plans are available; we never see or store a full card number.
  • Our other suppliers or service providers — send the emails we send you (account, billing and notice emails) and help us run the service.
  • Apple and Google — when wallet passes are live, a card you add to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet is also held by Apple or Google under their own terms.Add to Apple WalletAdd to Google Wallet
  • The WhatsApp gateway — when the WhatsApp add-on is live, messages sent through it pass through our gateway provider before reaching WhatsApp.
  • Anunzio International FZC's own GetMenu invoice book — India. Receives only a document reference — the product, an external id, whether it is an invoice or a credit note, the date, the amount, the currency and the VAT — never your name or any card content.

What we store about a visitor to a card

Every card view keeps one line about the device that opened it; the Allow bar decides whether the visit itself is recorded.

We do not store a visitor's IP address. When a card opens, we count the view with the country it came from, and we keep one line about the device it was opened on: a random number your browser keeps for that card, the kind of phone, the browser's own description, the page it came from and when it was last opened. This happens for every visitor. A card may also keep a separate, anonymous record of your visit (a random id, a country and city derived from the request, the page referrer and the pages viewed) so the card holder can see how their card is doing. If you are in the EU or the UK, the separate record of your visit is kept only after you press Allow on the notice at the bottom of the card.

What we store about someone who writes to a card holder

If you fill in the form on a card to leave your details, those details (your name and phone, and anything else the card holder asked for) are stored so the card holder can reach you. We check the number against WhatsApp to know whether it can be messaged there. The card holder decides how to use what you sent them — see our card-page privacy notice for the short version shown on every card.

Orders, event tickets and bookings on a card

Orders from a store on a card. When you order from a card holder's store, we keep what you enter at checkout — your name, your email, your phone number if you give one, your note, and a delivery address when you order a physical product — with what you ordered, the order number, any promo code and the order's status. The holder sees it in their dashboard and by email, and you can reopen your order on its own private page. You pay on the holder's own payment page: we never see your card details or the payment. Your cart is kept in your own browser until you place the order. The order is the holder's business record: it stays until the holder deletes it or closes their account.

Event registrations and tickets. When you register for an event, we keep your name, your email, your phone number if you give one, your answers to the organiser's questions, the tickets issued to you and their state (valid, awaiting payment, waiting for approval, cancelled, and when you were checked in). The organiser sees it, and door staff holding a link from the organiser see your name, your email with most of it hidden, your ticket and its state when they check you in. If you join a waiting list we keep your name, your email and how many places you asked for. It stays until the organiser deletes it or closes their account.

Bookings. When you book a session, we keep your name, your email, your phone number if you give one, your note, the time you chose, your time zone and the booking's state. The holder sees it and gets it by email, and we email you a reminder a day and an hour before. It stays until the holder deletes it or closes their account.

The emails we send about an order, a ticket or a booking are logged like every email we send, and the log's copies are blanked after 120 days.

When an organiser sends an email to the people registered for their event through their own email account, the email goes from that account, not from us; we keep the list of who it went to for 30 days after the sending ends, so that nobody gets it twice.

Retention

  • Visitor session rows are purged after 120 days.
  • The one line about each device that opened a card is kept while the card exists. It is deleted with the card or the card holder's account, or sooner if you ask us.
  • The words of the emails we send are removed after 120 days, except our replies to an email you sent us, which are kept with that email (the next line). The short links in our emails (visitingcards.store/m/...) keep working for 700 days - five years for a link that only stops emails - and then open our homepage.
  • The words of the WhatsApp messages sent and received for a card are removed after 120 days, and so are the words of a card's follow-up reminders and of its messages to everyone who wrote, and the names in a card's WhatsApp address book; the numbers and the record that a message was sent stay. A WhatsApp message, reminder or message to everyone that is still waiting to be sent keeps its words until it has gone or it is stopped.
  • An email you send to hello@visitingcards.store is kept in our support inbox for 12 months, then deleted. Our replies to it are kept with it and deleted with it.
  • A review you sent us that we published stays on our website after you delete your account: its words stay, your name is replaced by "A VisitingCards.store customer", and your photo, your job title and your company are removed. A review we have not published is deleted with the account.
  • If you leave a note on "Was this helpful?" under a Help Center article, the note is blanked after 120 days. The vote itself is remembered by a hash of your connection changed daily with a secret only we hold — never your address itself, and never linked to anything else about you.
  • A print file uploaded for a printed-card order is kept in a private store; a file no order follows is deleted 30 minutes after it was uploaded. The delivery address and the phone number you give for a printed order are kept with that order.
  • The email you give on the print upload page is kept so we can write to you about your order, and, where you agreed, a few emails about our digital card; every one of those has a one-click unsubscribe. If you do not order, it is deleted 120 days after the last email we sent you (or 120 days after you gave it, if we sent none). If you order, it stays with the order.
  • Only our print emails, sent from their own address, record whether they were opened and which link was clicked, through a short link of ours; no other email we send is tracked, and we keep that only as long as we keep your email.
  • Leads (who wrote to a card and what they gave) are kept — they are the card holder's business contacts, held on the holder's behalf.
  • Orders, event registrations and bookings made on a card are the holder's business records, kept until the holder deletes them or closes their account. The list of who an organiser's own email went to is deleted 30 days after the sending ends.

Asking us to erase your details

If you wrote to a card and want your details erased from our systems, email us at hello@visitingcards.store and tell us which card you wrote to. We will erase what we hold within 30 days.

Cookies and the analytics id

Our own admin dashboard sets a session cookie on www.visitingcards.storeto keep you signed in, and — once you sign in to manage a card — a second cookie on that card's own address. A card's public page may keep a random number in your browser for that card, for every visitor, so the same phone or computer is counted once; it identifies a browser, never a person. The separate record of a visit uses its own random id, which lasts only while that browser tab is open; if you are in the EU or the UK, it is set only after you press Allow on the card's consent notice, and you may refuse it by pressing Decline or simply not answering. The print upload page sets one cookie on www.visitingcards.store that remembers you already gave your email there, so you are not asked again; it holds a signed number, never the email, and lasts 120 days.

Children

This service is for businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we store or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
